The Project

The Tempus CARDS JEP project Support Network for Improvement of the Strategic Planning (SuNISP) has been launched at the Opening Conference held at the Faculty of Agriculture University of Zagreb on October 24-25, 2007.

The project is selected by European Commission (DG Education and Culture) and is going to be funded for two years. It involves nine Faculties of Agriculture from the WBC region (Zagreb, Beograd, Novi Sad, Osijek, Podgorica,  Pristina, Sarajevo, Skopje and Tirana). The project is supported by three EU universities: University of Hohenheim (Germany), BOKU (Austria) and The Slovak University of Agriculture Nitra (Slovakia), as well as German Rectors Conference and three individual experts.

The central aim of the project is to create and enable a regional network to:

  • set the uniform methodology and perform internal (institutional) and external evaluation (by EU experts) of each Faculty;
  • collect all relevant information, develop skills and involve core stakeholders for designing institutional strategic development plans;
  • help in establishing Student Support Offices and specific Faculty Boards for self-evaluation and strategic planning as permanent bodies involved in future Faculty management.

The project's deliverables are achieved through work within Local Working groups of each Faculty, as well as study trips to EU partner institutions, four regional conferences and four regional working group meetings. The project focuses not only on Faculty managers, but also academic staff, administration and students.
